Texas Instruments Calculator Reviews
TI-Nspire CX II CAS *NEW* >>
The TI-Nspire CX II CAS is Texas Instruments’ newest calculator. It was released 8 years after its predecessor the TI-Nspire CX CAS. The CX II is the most advanced and most capable calculator that Texas Instruments makes. This particular model has a computer algebra system (CAS), which allows it to do many things that were never possible on a regular graphing calculator
TI-83 Plus >>
The TI-83 Plus is one of the oldest graphing calculators that is still sold new today. It has been around for nearly two decades but still outsells most graphing calculators. If you want the least expensive way to get into the TI-84/83 family of graphing calculators, the TI-84 Plus is the way to go.
TI-84 Plus >>
The TI-84 Plus has become somewhat of a standard in the schools system, because of its usability and the fact that it does everything that a high school math curriculum needs. This is the most popular calculator on the market today despite it’s age. But being released in 2004 is starting to show, check out our review to see if this calculator is still worth buying.
TI-84 Plus CE >>
The TI-84 Plus CE is our absolute favorite calculator overall. Even though the underlying technology for this calculator has been around for a while, we still think there is no one other calculator that will satisfy you as much as this one. This calculator will work with all of the programs on this website.
TI-Nspire CX CAS >>
The TI-Nspire CX CAS one of the most capable calculators that you can use on the SAT. Not many people own this calculator but if you do, you will have a real edge on your next math test. The “CAS” in the calculator’s name stands for Computer Algebra System. This means that this calculator can solve for variables and give almost any answer in exact number form.
Hewlett-Packard Calculator Reviews
HP Prime v2 >>
The HP Prime graphing calculator is one of the most capable calculators that you can buy. It graphs lines almost instantly, much faster than any TI calculator. Like the Nspire the Prime has a Computer Algebra System (CAS) making it capable of solving algebra equations and outputting an exact number. This is TI-Nspire’s main competitor. And there are a lot of things that this calculator does better than the Nspire.
Casio Calculator Reviews
Casio fx-9750GII >>
The Casio fx-9750GII graphing calculator offers the best option if you want a capable graphing calculator for under $50. The fx-9750GII can keep up with most of the graphing calculators on this list but with a price, none of the others can touch. It doesn’t have a computer algebra system and it’s a little clunky but it will put you through high school without costing a fortune.
Casio fx-9860GII >>
The Casio fx-9860GII is very similar to the Casio fx-9750GII seen above but it is a better calculator in some areas. This calculator will get you everything that you really need in terms of capabilities, and all for a pretty reasonable price around $75. It doesn’t have anything super fancy or complex, but in turn it is very user friendly and will be a breeze to use for for almost anyone.
Casio fx-CG50 >>
If you like the fx-9750GII but want a more premium calculator, this is the way to go. The fx-CG50 is the newest of Casio’s PRIZM line of calculators that has been around for a while. This calculator is easy to use, doesn’t have a super ridiculous price tag and it competes well with the TI-84 Plus CE calculators. This would be a great choice for anyone in high school level math who wants a Casio calculator.
Casio fx-CG500 >>
Casio’s flagship calculator released in 2017 is a fully equipped CAS calculator comparable to the HP Prime and the TI-Nspire. It has features like 3D graphing and full variable calculation. Casio made the bold decision diverge from the regular calculator build and made this calculator have majority screen. The CG500 has all the software features you need, but in my opinion it is lacking on the hardware side of things.
Numworks Calculator Reviews
Numworks 100 >>
The Numworks 100 graphing calculator is a well designed and easy to use. It’s a refreshing break from the calculators that have dominated the industry for the past two to three decades. It was designed for “students who grew up using technology” and because of this the user interface is a bit different from that of other calculators. This calculator is defiantly geared towards high school students and can be used on most standardized tests.
