How to get answers in scientific notation

If you want your TI-30XS MultiView (or most other TI scientific calculator) to give answers in scientific notation for every answer, you’re in the right place.

How to do scientific notation on TI-30x MultiView

First, press the [mode] key in the top row of your calculator keypad.

From here, scroll down to the second row of options. Your calculator is most likely on “norm” (normal) number format. Then, scroll over and select the “sci” (scientific) mode. to select the option just press [enter].

Your calculator will now give answers in scientific notation by default.

This feature is very useful if you are using your calculator for a science class.

How to quickly enter answers in scientific notation

The TI-30XS MultiView does not have an “EE” button. (a common calculator abbreviation) But, there is still a button to speed things up. It is locate directly under he [2nd] button. You can press [2nd] [log] to instantly pull up 10^x power.
